Born in 1981, emerging artist Loretta Pitjara Jones belongs to a large artistic family. She lives at Arawerr (Soapy Bore) in the Utopia Region, 270kms north east of Alice Springs with her family. Taught by her mother and aunties, her paintings celebrate her dreaming stories of red bud mallee and bush honey grevillea. Her sisters Sandra, Rhonda, Agnes and Jilly also paint these stories and the women often work together on their community.
